Practical crafting is one of my most favorite ways to use my skills. Making both beautiful and functional items that are needed in my kitchen is as satisfying as making a good meal for my family.
Crocheting these skillet handle cozies gives me the feeling of peace, as I get into the quick rhythm of the afghan stitch; and it gives me the satisfaction of creating something that is going to keep our hands safe as we make the food that nourishes our bodies.
This skillet cozy is easy to crochet, once the afghan stitch is mastered. My instructions in this pattern contain photos of every step, making it easy to pick up and acquire the skill of this stitch quickly. This pattern is easy enough for the less experienced needleworker, and fun enough for the seasoned to be able to crochet up at least one skillet cozy (or more) in an hour.
This listing is for a PDF version of the pattern only, and includes 7 pages with the main cozy pattern and 2 options for borders: shell border and what I call a “peak and valley border”. Finished size approximately 2″ x 4″ (without the border options).
